Walking the Walk
Last night I was experiencing an emotional morass. So I wrote a couple poems on one of my other blogs:

The effect of writing my feelings out in poetry is transformative. When done, I am fine, better than fine; I feel great. It’s a kind of sublimation, going from the state of feeling terrible, to feeling absolutely wonderful. Your emotions are no longer just yours, they are out there for everyone to share, no longer roiling around without meaning or direction, but serving the purpose of communicating with others. If nothing else, they are now outside you. Even if you show your work to no one else, are not proud of what you have produced, you can experience the basic therapeutic effect of creative activity.
The opportunity to not only express but to transform your emotions is what is available to everyone who chooses the consciously creative life.
